Chaos, Resilience and Finding Joy—Let’s Talk
February 5, 2025As we step into a new year, I’m choosing a mantra that feels like a warm hug: curiosity and ease. Instead of overwhelming myself with resolutions that might feel like a sprint, I’m asking some key questions: How can I make my business operations easier so I have more room for exploration and joy? How can I use technology to work smarter, not harder? And how can I empower my clients to do the same?
These aren’t just questions—they’re invitations. They invite me to approach my work with a sense of playfulness, a willingness to experiment, and the courage to embrace change. Because friends…change is guaranteed.

Making Business Easier – Running a business is a juggling act, and I’m always looking for ways to simplify without sacrificing quality. This year, I’m focusing on streamlining workflows, automating repetitive tasks, and saying “no” to things (and people) that drain my energy. Ease doesn’t mean laziness—it means setting up systems that let me focus on what matters most – my relationships with clients, friends, family and myself.
Leveraging Technology – Technology can feel like a double-edged sword (you still won’t catch me on X), but when used thoughtfully, it’s a game-changer. Tools like project management platforms (we love Asana), AI assistants (hey, I see you, ChatGPT!), and Smart design tools like Canva aren’t just for the most tech savvy of us — they’re powerful allies for nonprofit executives and fundraisers of all ages and tech comfort levels. At TPC, we’ll be diving deeper into these tools to support both our day-to-day business operations and our clients’ campaigns and long-term goals.
Creating Resources for Our Clients – One of my favorite parts of this work is equipping nonprofit professionals with the tools they need to thrive. This year, we’re dreaming up resources that help our clients work smarter. In the near future, we’ll be offering plug-and-play self-paced workshops and templates for DIY development assessments and donor communications; we’re also workshopping mini-courses and group coaching programs. We’re really excited to introduce new ways to bring a little more ease and joy into the lives of our clients – current and future.
Coaching and Expert Support – Coaching is the ultimate exercise in curiosity. I love coaching clients, and I loved being coached because I know that the 1:1 inquiry and exploration can bring a helpful reframing and comfort, especially when we’re on the cusp of big changes. Similarly, consultants provide fresh perspectives, proven strategies, and the reassurance needed to tackle big challenges and audacious goals with confidence. Whether it’s navigating a major campaign, restructuring a Development team, or reimagining your donor engagement strategies, having an experienced guide can make the journey much easier and much more fun.
It’s Your Turn – What would happen if you approached this year with curiosity and ease in the driver’s seat? What if you let go of the pressure to “do all the things perfectly” and instead experimented with new ways to work, lead, and grow? My bet is you’d discover not only a more sustainable way to operate but also a deeper sense of fulfillment.

As we navigate this year together, I’ll keep sharing what I learn and create. Let’s make 2025 the year we work smarter, embrace innovation, and demand that joy is on the menu no matter what we’re being served.
